All antique Gutta Percha collectors should be very interested in owning this fine and unusual Mourning Carved Black Bird Cuff Bracelet from the late 1800s. This carved profile of a beautiful bird perched on a branch and encircled in ivy leaves is so delicate and sweet. This bird sits in the middle of an Oval base that is nailed to the cuff. Oval measures 1.75″ tall and 1.5″ wide. It is in terrific condition other than the usual aging with these types of bracelets. The cuff expands to fit most arm sizes. It is 1.25″ at it’s widest, but tapers down in the back to 7/8″. The back of the oval and panels are smooth and black. It is truly a BEAUTIFUL piece and sweeter in person! NOTE: unsure if the screws are authentic to this piece because they are shinier than normal. It may have been fixed in past years. No matter, the oval base is VERY secure to the cuff. Please take the time to review photos carefully. Anybody searching for Gutta Percha, Mourning or Victorian Jewelry will be very happy to add this bracelet to their collection. It has most recently been in my Mother’s collection for 15+ years. She is looking to down-size, so we will be posting a number of her pieces throughout the coming years.
